POLICY

The five principles outlined below align with our values, and are supported by MWF’s policies, procedures and guidelines which provide the detail to inform our activities and behaviours.

Create and maintain a working environment that engenders respect, diversity and a safe working environment .

  1. We treat others with respect, value difference and opinions. We seek to maintain a safe working environment.
  2.  We observe these principles by:
      a. Treating all people we deal with through our work for MWF with dignity and respect;
      b. Never discriminating, harassing, bullying or treating less favourably any person we deal with through our work for MWF. Acting appropriately includes being aware that some behaviour may be acceptable to each of us, but not to others;
      c. Making decisions based on merit, and not on attributes that are irrelevant to performance, employment or other engagements for MWF; and
      d. Promoting a safe working environment, including taking responsibility for our health and safety and the health and safety of others, and reporting any issues as soon as possible.

Act in the best interests of MWF whilst ensuring the wellbeing, health and safety of members and clients.

8. In the performance of our duties, we will act in the best interest of MWF and value MWF’s reputation.
9. We observe this principle by:
a. Undertaking our duties with care, diligence and in alignment with the best interest of MWF;
b. Being accountable for the decisions we make and the actions we take;
c. Exercising our authorities responsibly and within our delegated limits;
d. Behaving in a way that takes into account our impact on the broader community and the environment in both the short and long term; and
e. Never behaving in a way that may damage MWF’s reputation.

Promote honesty, integrity, transparency and openness

10. We act with honesty and integrity, transparency and openness.
11. We observe this principle by:

a. Not making improper use of the information acquired to gain, directly or indirectly an advantage for yourself or another, or to cause detriment to MWF;
b. Being honest in all our communications and dealings with MWF and its stakeholders;
c. Ensuring all dealings with MWF Representatives, participants, guests, suppliers and third parties are properly recorded and transparent;
d. Ensuring efficient use and management of MWF resources for MWF purposes and ensuring at all times resources are not misappropriated;
e. Reporting any suspicions of fraud, corruption, maladministration, theft or other dishonest behaviour;
f. Identifying, disclosing and managing conflicts of interest pertaining to ourselves and/or others; and
g. Behaving ethically and taking action to prevent unethical practices.

Promote privacy and confidentiality

12. We respect privacy and maintain confidentiality.
13. We observe this principle by:
a. Keeping information secure and not disclosing personal or confidential information with anyone unless authorised to do so.

Promote the National Principles of Child Safe Organisations in MWF operations 

14. We comply with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (2019) and MWF policies and procedures.
15. We observe this principle by:
a. Completing all required training and education programs to build and maintain our awareness and understanding of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (2019), MWF policies, procedures and practices;
b. Seeking guidance about the interpretation of a particular aspect of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (2019), MWF policy, procedure or practice from the appropriate MWF Representative; and
c. Honestly reporting all actual or suspected breaches of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (2019), MWF policies and procedures immediately to the relevant MWF Representative.
