At the Making Waves Foundation, our 300+ dedicated volunteers are the heart and soul of our organization. They bring our programs to life, driving each sail and providing unique, inclusive and unforgettable opportunities for youth living with disability or experiencing disadvantage.
As we expand our programs and reach across Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Geelong, we’re on the lookout for more passionate individuals to join our volunteer crew. We are looking for committed volunteers to join our amazing volunteer team, to assist with our professionally designed and run programs. You will have an opportunity to sail with and mentor our very excited young clients and you will be part of a dynamic and passionate team.

Things to know
- You must have a current working with children check.
- Be available at least 1 day per week during the school term.
- Experience in sailing a plus but not essential.
- Full training is provided with a big focus on safety and client care.
- Only collaborative, positive, empathetic people who can follow procedures should apply.
- Adults with disability and First Nations People are encouraged to appply.
We will train you in the Making Waves way to sail and how to mentor our clients. These are joyful experiences that truly bring out the best in everyone including our volunteer crew, clients, and their support staff.
People with experience in education, who are living with disability or have a passion for mentoring young people that are disadvantaged or have a disbaility are encouraged to apply.
