Brisbane Race Week

Once the Making History Breakfast had ended, Wendy Tuck took The Tribe out for the Hairy Hot Lap which was a timed circumnavigation of Green Island. Community Engagement Officer, Natalie Herity was joined onboard by Peter Lewis and newest Board member David Preston. The team were the fastest around the island on the day and celebrated in style at the Mexican themed presentation that evening.

The public holiday passage race was dubbed ‘Making Waves Monday’ and the whole fleet got behind us for the day. Crews bought special Making Waves stickers to raise funds to expand our programs in Brisbane.

The fun continued on The Tribe with a special guest skipper for the day – Duncan Hine from Alive Yachting took the helm for the day! Everyone on board was in awe, learned a lot and had a great time.

Of course, while it was a fun regatta, the real purpose of entering was to raise awareness of who we are, the programs we run and who we can help. With so many connections made throughout the week, we anticipate a big year for Making Waves in Brisbane.
